Marble & Limestone

Egyptian marble and limestone in the beiges, creams and greys the country is known for: Galala, Sunny Beige, Milly Grey and Silvia among them.

This is the family most people mean when they say Egyptian marble, and several of its best-known creams — Galala among them — are limestones by geology and marbles by trade. What matters on site is not the label but the consequence: they are softer and more porous than granite, excellent for interiors, façades and dry exteriors, and they want real drainage and a sensible finish wherever water sits. Their strength is evenness. A calm, consistent ground can run across a whole floor or elevation without a pattern to match, which is why these stones appear on more Egyptian façades and lobbies than anything else.
